From My Perch~Mosaic Monday

Saturday afternoon found John napping on the sofa and me napping in the recliner. After waking and finding John still dozing, I decided to try a little experiment with photo taking and my mosaic for Mosaic Monday — anything would work as long as I could zoom with my camera without leaving my "perch." Talk about lazy! No, it wasn't laziness, it was consideration. ☺

Not entirely successful, though definitely interesting...

Did you already find the first mosaic I did? I hadn't included one of my favorite photos so it was redone. Having spent so much time on the first, I included it in the final. Now I have both!

I must show you the apothecary lid on its own because the soft colors the glass picked up in the afternoon light are lovely to me.

A sweet August week to you...

  9. This is like a "day in the life' type of mosaic--fun! LOL -- I spied John's foot/shoe! We're home now --whew--the last day of driving was tiring!

  10. You got some great snaps for your mosaic. I think we need to be considerate too.
The pink like colored tomatoes taste pretty much the same. Shaped a little different too.

  11. Love this. I've done it too. It should be a photo challenge some time! Four notecards from your most comfortable chair, or some such. Your pics are good and good for you not to photograph your husband snoring!

  12. You have a good view of everything from your recliner! lol What a fun mosaic! Wouldn't he be more comfortable if he kicked those shoes off though? heehee!

  20. I love the thought of sitting in my recliner and noticing the things that I normally don't. Maybe I should do just that!

  21. I. Love. This.

What an inspired idea to create a mosaic of glimpses of beauty right there...and there IS so much beauty around you, Vee!

    I deem it a success!

(I am intrigued by the thick book about E.B. White. Is it a good read?)

  23. My first thought was what a pretty mosaic. My second was, he would be more comfortable without his shoes on for his nap! I'm not sure why but my eye is drawn to the picture with the door lock. Very nice! Your apothecary jar is pretty too!

Glad I'm not the only one that will take naps; unfortunately our daughter snapped me one day and threatens to find out ow to post it on my blog.

  28. Oh Vee,

That mosaic is wonderful. That's a fun idea to snap what's nearby. That last photo of your apothecary lid is gorgeous. Perfect lighting.

I have been dancing around getting the new Lightroom software from Adobe. That's the new flavor in town, but it paints dreamy lighting effects.

Make a notecard of that apothecary photo, it's lovely.

  36. Now, this is a mosaic that really speaks. I love your way of thinking, Vee....
and you are a sweetie for staying as still as a church mouse while taking photos from your perch and letting J. get his zzzzz's.

  37. I do enjoy your mosaics, but always feel a little frustrated because I'm the kind of person who wants to read the title of every book on your shelves or in your photos and my eyes aren't good enough to always do this anymore! But I do enjoy the homelike ambiance you achieve!

  38. Hi Vee!

What a great idea - I will have to try doing that . . . maybe next Monday!! I love the colors in the apothecary lid too, very soft and cool looking!

  41. Hi Vee!

Skipping back to answer your question. The pictures were taken in June and July. The flowers at the bottom are, Indian Painbrush. The bloom in June in Idaho . . . I'm not sure if they grow in the East? The baby Dove, was just starting to fly, and we were putting him back in the tree to protect him from the dog... :0) Barn and horse in July!

  43. Love the mosaic, I might try that sometime. Just so you know I really looked, I notice you have the same image in all four corners, and the center one is a photo of the photo. Does your husband know you photographed his foot while he was napping. ~ Abby

  46. A mosaic within a mosaic - fun idea! And what a great exercise. I'd say you did very well snapping photos from your chair.
I see you are a fan of E.B. White - but I already knew that. I love snooping on bookshelves.

  47. A mosaic within a mosaic...very creative! Oh...I see I'm repeating Lorrie's comment. Not very creative!

What is a nap? I can not remember the last time I had a nap. I should try it sometime.
